There are many ways public input is built into the operations of transit systems, but are you really engaging your community? Should you be? This session will explore what engagement is, how to design it to be meaningful and inclusive, and why it is critical for your system and your community.
Iowa’s Latino immigrant communities continue to grow and represent a significant opportunity for public transportation ridership in many cities and counties across the state. In order to better serve the transportation needs of Iowa’s Latino communities, we need to have a better understanding of their experiences, current reality, and preferences.
CTAA’s Taylor Klocke will engage with attendees on how to best communicate stories, challenges and needs of transit systems with elected officials. During this session, attendees can expect to hear and see visual examples of how to effectively (and efficiently) communicate with electeds and their staff, along with the typical do’s and don’ts of meeting with them.
